The oval face shape in the ideal face shape because of its balance and proportion. This face shape can wear many options, but there are still a couple guidelines to follow when selecting your frames.
Make sure the features of the frame don’t overwhelm your face.
Choose a frame that is as wide as the broadest part of your face. The key is to go wider in order to balance out a long, thin face. If you keep the proportion in check, you will be able to pull off most frame shapes.
Avoid low or sweeping temples (temples are the arms of the frame). They can throw off the proportion and create an unbalanced look.
Although the oval face shape tends to work with a majority of frames, you need to determine if you have a small oval versus a medium or larger oval, and fit the lens size accordingly.
